Full description

Discover the history and flavors of a historic organic winery on a guided tour just outside Arezzo. Easy to reach from the city, the estate offers a glimpse into Tuscany’s rural heritage as well as the traditions behind its wines and local produce.

The estate’s story began in 1922, when Fortunato Tosi acquired the farm and assigned it to his son, Guido. In the 1930s, Dr. Guido Tosi began modernizing the property in keeping with the agricultural policies of the time, which envisioned farms like this as vital centers of rural life. Located at the gates of Arezzo, the estate once supported its workers and tenant farmers through livestock, crops, vegetable gardens, and winemaking.

Follow a route through the winery’s different spaces: the old cellar, the tinaia (vat room), the vinsantaia (where Vin Santo is aged), and the new cellar. Along the way, learn about the estate’s past and its organic winemaking.

Enjoy a tasting featuring a selection of estate-made wines and Tuscan specialties, including organic white wine served with bread and organic olive oil, two organic red wines (including a Chianti) paired with Tuscan salame, Tuscan prosciutto, finocchiona (a fennel-infused salame) and Tuscan pecorino, organic Vin Santo served with cantucci (almond-based hard cookies), and the winery’s own grape juice.
